Greatest Wine Glass just put out a wine glass for the UBBER wine snob. The silhouette have a space for your nose so you can jam it inthe glass and pick up all the nuances that the extra inch is hiding.

Clearly, this is why you're not picking up all those wonderful descriptors on the back of labels.

But if that isn't enough, they're on sale! Originally $78 each now only $54 each.

[end sarcastic voice]

I'm almost jealous that I didn't think of it first. There's enough wine snobs out there to support such a product to make a killing!

The video here is some VERY funny stuff. Almost like something from an SNL skit!

World Wide Fred Wine Products

Fred and Friends is group of designers bringing a new spin on old favorites. From kitchenware to office supplies, surfing their site can result in hours of wasted time. Here are a few wine-related items they've taken their creative minds to:

The glass tags are a cute take on a well-saturated space. The glass grips seem to be quite out of the ordinary and somewhat pointless. How trashed does one need to be to require a rubber grip of stemware... The bottle opener, while not my favorite style, is certainly sexy and practical for traveling or camping trips.

Wine Ratchet Magnum

I'm a sucker for things that blend wine and design. They're my two favorite things in the world and when they meet, I get all giddy.

Enter: Wine Ratchet Magnum

From the website:
"A travesty has fallen upon the world of wine, It has lost the beloved "POP" that gets one salivating in anticipation of a tasty treat. Well, for those wishing to forgo the mechanical levers and tricks, a new day has dawned. Our corkscrew makes opening a bottle of wine as much fun as emptying it."

I'm actually not a fan of the "put between your legs and pull like hell" corkscrews but the design of this alone makes it cool. Plus is comes with interchanging worms depending on the type of cork you're dealing with.

The $100 price tag is paying the designers and limited nature of this I imagine. When the $2 "el Cheapo" corkscrew works just as well, you're better using the rest of your case for a great bottle of wine.

But isn't it pretty?

My Other Half wine glasses

"My Other Half" Because liquid finds it's own level, it flows down to the lowest glass. Users must learn to cooperate, to drink their wine. by Jim Rokos - great rollover animations on his site of a couple using it. I know too many couples that this would never work out for ;-)

Piling Up the Wine Bottles

Category: Products | Comments (2)

The Pile Wine Rack offers a clever method of displaying wine that take the pretense out of having any kind of wine collection on hand. The rack allows you to safely stack up to six bottles in a pyramid, and the piece is comfortably simple with any number of bottles.

You can purchase it from Unicahome $65

New Wine Glasses - Riedel "O" knockoffs?

Category: Products | No comments yet

Who cares - these look much cooler. Pavina line of glasses are insulated, dishwasher-safe glassware. I noticed the WineEnthusiast is now carrying them - perhaps now since the Riedel "O" has become so successful. Bodum, makers of Pavina glasses, offers these glasses in a variety of sizes which is pretty attractive - one set of glasses for all my hot AND cold beverages!! I just might have to pick up a set and try them out. I really dig the Riedel "O" glasses simply because I can pop them right into the dishwasher with no worries. Traditional stemware sucks in my opinion.
