2001 Chardonnay Carneros Estate
2002 Cabernet Sauvignon
Price: $17.00 Review Date: 2004-07-24

Deep ruby red-color with purple hues. Gotta love these aromas! Toasty red cherries, plum, black licorice hints and exotic spice. Big juicy flavors of wild red berries, black cherry, blackberry hints, and strawberry. Big, strong, popping tannins upfront that fade gently revealing chewy oak nuances, hardy tobacco notes, spice and ripe black cherry. Great structure and well crafted. Classic Napa grapes for an awesome value.
Six vineyards in Napa Valley, including plantings in three sub-appellations - Rutherford, St. Helena and Atlas Peak - were our sources for this Merlot. The fruit comes from a widely diverse selection of hillside and valley floor vineyards, moderate to warm regions and a variety of soil types. The mean age of the plantings is over ten years, and yields in 2001 averaged 3.2 tons per acre.
